A Contact Lens Specialist Reviews written prescriptions to determine the specifications for contact lenses. Recommends appropriate contacts lenses after considering the prescription and the patient's lifestyle needs.

An Optician is trained to dispense and fit glasses and contacts, working from prescriptions written by Optometrists and Ophthalmologists. Your role as an Optician is crucial in improving each patient's life through supportive vision care.

 

Join our team as a Contact Lens Technician at our Eye Care Specialist located in Kingston, PA and you'll be at the forefront of providing quality patient care! Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the ordering and maintaining of contact lenses.
  • Accurately gather, document, and handle patient contact lens orders and payments.
  • Teach patients how to care for and use contact lenses.
  • Verify insurance benefits per patient request and file contact lens claims for any patients wishing to use their insurance benefits.
  • Cross-train to perform other tasks, including diagnostic testing and administrative front desk duties.

 

 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED certificate
  • Completion of a contact lens, optician or ophthalmic assistant or technician program strongly preferred (COA or COT)
  • Experience working as a contact lens technician, optician, ophthalmic technician or scribe is preferred
  • Experience with EMR tools a plus
  • Proficient with MS Office tools (outlook, excel, word)
