We are currently seeking a motivated Sterile Processing Technician to join our team.  The Sterile Processing Technician plays an important role in our Surgery Centers, ensuring decontamination of surgical equipment, preparation, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instruments are available and ready for use before, during and after medical procedures. Sterile processing technicians play a critical role in ensuring patient safety and maintaining surgical standards of care and professionalism.

Responsibilities

What You Will Do:

  • Anticipates needs of the surgeons and clinical staff to assure that equipment and supplies are available.
  • Assists in maintaining adequate supplies in the operating room, and the Pre-op and post-ops areas.
  • Label and organize storeroom store and stock supplies and ensures appropriate storage of supplies in cabinets and refrigerated areas.
  • Cleaning, Sterilize and processing instruments and ensure proper storage.
  • Checks equipment to ensure proper working condition before and after use.
  • Assist with cleaning, storing and packaging of supplies, instruments and equipment.
  • Maintains safety and compliance in all duties and patient care.
  • Assists patients in the surgical suite as necessary and requested.
  • Handles equipment and instruments correctly.
  • Demonstrates commitment to the philosophy, goals, and objectives of the Surgery Center.

 

 

Qualifications

What You Will Bring:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Demonstrated knowledge of operation and maintenance of equipment and supplies located in the operating room
  • Previous experience working in a sterile environment.
  • Ability to interact comfortably with a high volume of patients, families, and staff in a stressful environment.

Note: This position is for a NEW Ambulatory Surgical Center in Frederick, MD. Upon hire, training will begin in Hagerstown, MD.

 

$22.00-$26.00 an hour 

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as, but not limited to full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility, annual educational reimbursement, and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
